2008-2009 season

Well, you missed one of the greatest duck hunts ever.  Everyone at the club shot limits on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  In addition we shot 4 Specs and 2 Snows.  One Mallard and 2 Specs were banded.  We shot mostly Mallards and Teal.  On Friday morning and afternoon, there were.....just on conservative accounts at least 5,000 ducks and geese sitting in our rice checks.  If you have ever seen a flurry of Snows getting up...that is what our rice fields fields surrounding our two blinds looked like.  I shot my limits on Friday in 15 minutes...and that is because I was being very picky about which birds I wanted...Greenheads and Teal.  I made a mistake and shot a Gadwall that I thought was a Mallard...low light conditions.

And....to top it off.  We sat around playing dominoes and replaying our shots while drinking the BEST BEER I have ever drank.  You could not have picked a better beer to give me.  It was perfection!  Thanks.

I attached a a couple of photos of Thursday's take.  the ten year old boy is my cousin's husband and her son.  Two weeks ago he shot his first duck...a banded bull Sprig.  Thursday, he shot his first limit, (his father's also), his first goose, Mallard, (he actually shot two with one shot), Teal, etc. He is one fired up 10 year old.
