My Ferry to Alaska leaves at 6pm Friday, 05/09/08.  I hope to check-in to the Great Northern Boaters Net Saturday morning at 8am on 3870khz, from the Ferry while underway.  Feel free to listen in.  There will be new pictures posted on the TREK PAGE as of Sunday night the 11th.  I plan on spending the night in Ketchikan, so I should be able to send Doc some stuff to post to the TREK website at http://hvsm.com/N7GCW_trek.htm, before heading to Dora Bay Monday morning.

Ketchikan

The first leg of the trip went PERFECT!! The Ferry ride North through the inland passage was AMAZING!!!! I'll let the pictures explain it in detail. And, to make it easier for folks on dial-up, I've decreased the resolution of the pictures, so they will be smaller in size, but still max detail. I've contacted Taquan Air (the float-plane service) and am confirmed on their 6:30am flight to 'The Shack at Dora Bay'. I've never flown in a float-plane, although I always wanted to. So this is yet another adventure for me. If I can, I plan to video the whole flight. That would be a COOL video!
So, tomorrow morning the adventure continues!!! Wish me luck!! Send GOOD weather my way.
